Is a Glass of Wine or Beer Healthier? What's Healthier?
Moderate consumption of alcohol—whether it’s beer, wine, or a shot of tequila—has been found to guard against heart disease, improve cholesterol levels, and even boost cognitive function. But in terms of additional benefits, you might be surprised to learn that beer comes out on top, according to Andrea Giancoli, R.D., spokeswoman for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Wine contains the antioxidant resveratrol, but, says Giancoli, “You’d need to drink much more than a glass or two of wine [a day] to obtain enough to be beneficial.” Meanwhile, compared to wine, “beer contains more B vitamins, including folate and niacin, plus silicon, which is associated with better bone health. Moderate beer consumption also seems to lower the risk of kidney stones in men. It’s even got a little bit of fiber!”

In response to learning about Team Cul De Sac: Cartoonists Draw the Line at Parkinson’s:
“Richard Thompson is lucky to have a friend like Chris Sparks. With this amazing collection, Chris is raising significant dollars and awareness for Parkinson’s —while proving comedy can help speed a cure. We’re grateful to have both Chris and Richard on our team.” – Michael J. Fox
Chris Sparks, a professional web designer, is leading the Team Cul de Sac (TCDS) fundraising effort in honor of his friend Richard Thompson, the cartoonist behind the Cul de Sac comic strip. Richard was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. With Richard's support, TCDS has asked cartoonists across the country to draw his characters so the artwork can be compiled into a fundraising book and the artwork auctioned to raise additional money. Hundreds of cartoonists have responded and sent artwork in to be compiled in a book soon to be published by Andrews McMeel. We've received cartoons from many of Richard's personal friends including Stephen Pastis (Pearls Before Swine), Sergio Aragones (Mad, Groo), Patrick McDonnell (Mutts), Pat Oliphant (Pulitzer Prize political cartoonist), Dave Kellet (Sheldon, Drive), Gene Weingarten and David Clark (Barney & Clyde), Mason Mastroianni (B.C.), Roger Langridge (Muppet Show comic book, Marvel's Thor: The Mighty Avenger, Fred the Clown), Shannon Gallant (G.I.Joe), Michael Cavna (Washington Post), Steven Artley (Artleytoons), Barbara Dale and Steve Conley (Astounding Space Thrills, Bloop) and even Bill Watterson of Calvin and Hobbes fame. That's just the list of people we asked first because they know Richard. Many other fantastic cartoonists contributed, space doesn't permit us to list them all, but we appreciate everyone's contributions.
Five million people worldwide are living with Parkinson's disease - a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder. In the United States, 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure for Parkinson's disease.
The Team Cul de Sac book is available for pre-order now at places such as Amazon. In the meantime, you can keep up with our progress through our blog and Facebook pages. We're also trying other fundraising efforts that you can find out about there, including sets of postage using donated art. Professor Craig Fischer has edited Favorites, a fanzine that asks writers about comics - What is my favorite comic, and why? - and we'll sell you a copy of that too

The Code of Hammurabi
The Code of Hammurabi is a well-preserved Babylonian law code, dating back to about 1772 BC. It is one of the oldest deciphered writings of significant length in the world. The Code of Hammurabi had severe punitive laws for the equivalent of taverns/inns establishment of the time that were dishonest with beer serving and it's quality. (Good old times)

Terrapin Beer Company
Georgia.
American IPA - ABV 7.3%
pour a nice orange red color with near 1 inch of head. Smell of hops, citrus some malt and bread.
The taste is ok worth to drink once in while but not you would be craving for. Not Terrapin's best beer. I'm glad a got a single because I'm not sure I would like a six pack of this.
My friend James Gass was not happy about my opinion so I promised him to give another try.

Harpoon Belgium Style Pale Ale from Harpoon Brewery
First I want to apologize for the picture. Unfortunately my label slid off the bottle for some reason.
This is Harpoon Belgium Style Pale Ale from Harpoon Brewery in Massachusetts.
Belgian Pale Ale - ABV 5.8%
Pour a dark orange color, a little darker than I expected. You get yeast, a good amount of hop and a little mix of fruit and spices but not much. Over wall a good Belgian style. Very smooth with some dryness in the end and good carbonation. Very good job by Harpoon since I've tried some Belgian Pale Ale that was more a "hummm can were fit in this style". this one definitely fits the bill.

It's 55 percent and wrapped in roadkill, is this the world's most 'shocking' beer?
You'd expect a lot from a bottle of beer costing $765. What you get is 55 percent alcohol — and served in a squirrel.According to Scottish firm BrewDog, "The End of History" is the "strongest, most expensive and most shocking beer avaliable in US."Just 12 bottles were made and the company has already sold out. They will be shipped out to buyers in the United States, Canada, Italy, Denmark, Scotland and England next week. The Armageddon The End of History broke their record October 2012.
